International Phonetic Alphabet
The International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) is used to represent the sounds of the Alphabet. There are a total of 44 sounds in IPA. The IPA offers a set of symbols, and some general guidelines for their use. We use the IPA to learn and improve pronunciation and for the transcription of English and many other languages.
